KAP HOLNIS · Denmark across the water

Denmark on three sides.

From Holnis, the neighbouring country is closer than the next town.

01. What you see

To the north and east lies the Danish coast with Broager and Brunsnæs. To the north-west you can see Rinkenæs, Dalsgård and Rønshoved.

From Glücksburg you look out to the Danish Ochseninseln.

02. A shared history

The region of Schleswig belonged to Denmark until 1864. A Danish minority still lives in Southern Schleswig, and in Danish Glücksburg is called Lyksborg. Even words cross the Förde: “Noor” comes from the Danish “nor”.
